The Captain D from German maker Smoke Factory is a reliable, compact smoke machine that turns up in theatres, concert venues and trade shows everywhere. It’s a proper tool, not a party toy.
It’s a 1300W unit running water-based fluid, and heats up in about seven minutes. Control it over 5-pin DMX, an analogue input, a radio or cable remote, or just run it standalone on its built-in timer. It weighs about 9.7kg.
