Hire Terms
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the hire of lighting, sound, video, staging and associated technical production equipment (“Equipment”) by Full Tilt (“Full Tilt”, “the Company”, “we”, “us”) to any individual, company or organisation hiring Equipment from us (“the Hirer”, “you”). By signing a Booking Confirmation, paying a deposit, or accepting delivery of Equipment, the Hirer agrees to be bound by these Terms, which take precedence over any terms put forward by the Hirer unless expressly agreed in writing by Full Tilt.

2. Quotations, Bookings and Confirmation
2.1 Quotations issued by Full Tilt are valid for 14 days from the date of issue, are subject to Equipment availability, and do not constitute a binding contract.
2.2 A booking is only confirmed once the Hirer has signed and returned the Booking Confirmation and paid any deposit specified. Full Tilt reserves the right to release provisionally held Equipment or dates if confirmation is not received within the timeframe stated on the quotation.
2.3 Any changes to Equipment specification, Hire Period, delivery address or crew requirements must be confirmed in writing and may result in a revised charge.
3. Charges and Payment
3.1 Hire charges are calculated on the Hire Period stated on the Booking Confirmation. Additional days, late collection or extended use will be charged at the applicable daily or weekly rate.
3.2 Unless otherwise agreed in writing, new clients are required to pay 100% of the hire charge in advance of the Hire Period; account customers will be invoiced in accordance with their agreed payment terms.
3.3 All prices are exclusive of VAT, which will be added at the prevailing rate. Delivery, collection, fuel, congestion charge, parking, waiting time and out of hours charges are additional unless expressly included in the quotation.
3.4 Invoices not settled by the due date may incur interest under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998, and Full Tilt reserves the right to suspend future bookings until outstanding sums are cleared.
4. Security Deposit
4.1 Full Tilt may require a refundable security deposit, or valid card details held as a guarantee, before releasing Equipment on Dry Hire. The amount will be confirmed on the Booking Confirmation.
4.2 The deposit will be refunded within 5 working days of the Equipment being returned in full and in the condition it was supplied, less any sums due under Clause 8 (Loss, Damage and Late Return).
5. Delivery, Collection and Site Access
5.1 Where Full Tilt provides delivery, the Hirer must ensure safe, level and timely access to the Venue for loading and unloading, including any parking suspensions, loading bay bookings or venue access permits required. Costs arising from inadequate access, failed access or parking contraventions will be re-charged to the Hirer.
5.2 On Dry Hire, the Hirer is responsible for collecting and returning Equipment from Full Tilt’s premises during the agreed collection window, in a suitable vehicle, and for safe loading and transport.
5.3 Risk in the Equipment passes to the Hirer on delivery, collection or get-in (whichever occurs first) and remains with the Hirer until the Equipment is returned to and signed for by Full Tilt.
6. Use of the Equipment
6.1 The Hirer shall use the Equipment only for its intended purpose, in accordance with any operating instructions and safe working loads provided, and only at the Venue and for the Hire Period stated.
6.2 The Hirer shall not sub-hire, lend, sell, part with possession of, or remove the Equipment from the agreed Venue without Full Tilt’s prior written consent.
6.3 Equipment must not be repaired or modified by any person other than Full Tilt crew or a competent person authorised in writing by Full Tilt. Rigging, flying or suspended loads must be carried out or approved by a competent, appropriately certified person.
6.4 On Crewed Hire, the Hirer shall ensure Full Tilt crew have safe, reasonable working conditions, welfare facilities and adequate time for get-in, sound and lighting checks and get-out.
6.5 The Hirer is responsible for obtaining any necessary consents for the event, including PRS and PPL licences, noise consents, electrical certification (such as venue power sign-off) and any local authority permissions.
7. Cancellation and Postponement
7.1 Cancellations must be confirmed in writing. The following scale of charges applies to the confirmed hire charge:
| Notice given before Hire Period | Cancellation charge |
|---|---|
| More than 28 days | No charge (deposit refunded in full) |
| 14 to 28 days | 25% of the hire charge |
| 7 to 13 days | 50% of the hire charge |
| Less than 7 days, or on the day | 100% of the hire charge |
7.2 Where postponement (rather than cancellation) is agreed and Full Tilt is able to accommodate the new date, no cancellation charge will apply, subject to Equipment availability on the revised date.
7.3 Full Tilt reserves the right to cancel or amend a booking due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control (see Clause 11), in which case any sums paid for unsupplied Equipment or services will be refunded.
8. Loss, Damage and Late Return
8.1 The Hirer is responsible for the Equipment from the point risk passes (Clause 5.3) until it is returned to and checked in by Full Tilt, and shall take all reasonable care to protect it from loss, theft, damage and weather.
8.2 Any loss, theft or damage occurring during the Hire Period, however caused, will be charged to the Hirer at full replacement or repair cost, together with any loss of hire income while the Equipment is unavailable for further bookings.
8.3 Equipment not returned by the end of the agreed Hire Period will continue to be charged at the applicable daily rate until returned, and may be treated as lost if not returned within 7 days without explanation.
8.4 The Hirer is strongly advised to hold, or confirm cover under, hire or hired-in plant insurance for the full replacement value of the Equipment for the duration of the Hire Period. Full Tilt can provide a full Equipment schedule and value on request.
9. Liability and Insurance
9.1 Full Tilt holds Public and Products Liability insurance and, where crew are supplied, Employers’ Liability insurance. Certificates are available to Hirers or venues on request.
9.2 Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes Full Tilt’s liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability which cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.
9.3 Subject to Clause 9.2, Full Tilt’s total liability arising from or in connection with the hire, whether in contract, tort or otherwise, shall not exceed the total hire charge paid under the relevant Booking Confirmation, and Full Tilt shall not be liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit, revenue or event cancellation costs.
9.4 The Hirer shall indemnify Full Tilt against any claim, loss, damage or expense arising from the Hirer’s, or the Hirer’s guests’, contractors’ or agents’, use of the Equipment other than in accordance with these Terms.
10. Title and Ownership
10.1 The Equipment remains at all times the property of Full Tilt. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of the Equipment to the Hirer, and the Hirer shall not represent, pledge, charge or otherwise deal with the Equipment as if it were their own.
10.2 If the Hirer becomes insolvent, or is in material breach of these Terms, Full Tilt may, without notice, enter the Venue during reasonable hours to recover the Equipment, without prejudice to any other rights or remedies.
11. Force Majeure
Full Tilt shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations where such failure or delay results from circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to fire, flood, extreme weather, strike, civil unrest, government restriction, pandemic, power failure, or failure of third party transport or venue access. Where such an event affects a booking, Full Tilt will notify the Hirer as soon as reasonably practicable and work with the Hirer to reschedule where possible.
12. General
12.1 These Terms, together with the Booking Confirmation, constitute the entire agreement between the parties and supersede any prior representations or agreements, whether written or oral.
12.2 If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
12.3 Full Tilt may amend these Terms from time to time; the version current at the date of the Booking Confirmation shall apply to that booking.
12.4 These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
